Cameron Champ's MEGA POWER MOVE! THE SHEMP EFFECT! Simple physics applied properly

Cameron Champ's MEGA POWER MOVE! THE SHEMP EFFECT! Simple physics applied properly THE SHEMP EFFECT: This is a simple move we all perform naturally when swinging a baseball bat but somehow forget about when swinging a golf club. It's the simple cantilever action of the club beginning it's orbit while still behind the player's back. We do this when swinging a piece of hose or a rope or anything heavy.

When I would snowboard, we would call anyone with their skis over their shoulder a "Shemp" because they'd be hitting people with the backside of their skis like Shemp from the Three Stooges. This is the same move.

The clubhead has to start it's orbit while most of the club is behind you. As you turn your body to begin the downswing the clubhead which is well behind you begins to travel in the opposite direction as the front of the body which sets it on the proper orbital path to come around and strike the ball.

Most players think unidirectionally toward the target only. They never think that the club has to be going the opposite direction of the target when it's behind you, so they pull the hands and club in front and attempt to push or pull it through the ball toward the target.

Better players will often make a good swing but stop their body rotation and wait for the club to strike the ball. This move prevents that as well as promoting many other natural motions of the golf swing. The clubhead will be moving so fast, you can't stop this if you wanted to. This is how Rory, Cameron, DJ and all the other bombers get that super lag, late strike and natural overhand motion.

This simply action is what children do naturally. This is truly "swinging" the club rather than forcefully manipulating it. It requires little energy and delivers massive power. In order to put the clubhead on the ball you'll have to have proper side-bend. Swinging the club this way will force you into the proper posture at impact.

If the club is brought in front of the body and forced downward toward the ball early extension must happen to equalize the force applied to the arms and club. There's just no way to stop it other than swinging so slow that inertia has no effect. When Shemp-swinging early extension can't happen because you're turning properly through the swing instead of stopping and waiting for the club to make contact with the ball.
