Fr. Thorne Proclaims St. Paul The Word Of God Is A Two-Edged Sword That Calls Us To Love Our Enemies In today's homily, Fr. Tom Thorne issues forth a proclamation for all the faithful to love their enemies in accordance with the Mass readings of St. Paul to the Colossians, as well as the the Gospel of Luke. The challenge is to love someone or some people who offend or hurt us. However, the bigger picture is desire to receive God's everlasting love, and in order to do so, the faithful must "love your neighbor" whether the neighbor is saint or sinner.

In essence, Fr. Thorne proclaims from today's reading from Colossians, St. Paul's exhortation to the faithful "And over all these put on love, that is, the bond of perfection."

Regarding St. Paul's reminder that the Word of God is a two-edged sword, Fr. Thorne shares the following quote from St. Paul, "It is meant to comfort those who are burdened, and to disturb those who are comfortable."

In closing, Fr. Thorne appeals to the faithful the reality that God's love is everlasting for all and God teaches us to do the same.
