The Supreme Court on Monday ordered to stop the cutting of trees in Mumbai's green belt Aarey Colony until October 21. The Maharashtra government told the court that there is no need to cut more trees. The Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation Limited (MMRCL) cut down 2,141 trees in Aarey Colony between Friday and Saturday, a report said. Is it a hollow victory for green activists?
