Sharp Images front to back - Best Method - Hyperfocal Distance is insufficient

Seeking out a stone arch bridge I found on Bridgehunter - fail.

Then I discuss and compare methods for trying to get the best front to back focus. "Focus a third of the way into the frame" they say. "Use the hyperfocal distance chart" is the other one. I explain these and show that they don't work, and I explain WHY they don't work... at least not sufficiently for my standards.
