The Most Public Meltdowns In Hollywood

Being an A-lister can put pressure on even the smoothest stars, and when media darlings lose their cool, those moments are sometimes broadcast for the world to see. From Reese Witherspoon to Alec Baldwin, the following celebs had very public meltdowns.

One of the most shocking meltdowns in celeb history is surely Britney Spears and her very public head-shaving incident in 2007. On that fateful day, the pop princess showed up to a salon that was closed, but the owner opened the shop for the celebrity walk-in. When Spears asked to have her head shaved, the owner refused. So Spears asked if she could do it herself, and the salon provided her with the tools to do so. The owner eventually helped out to even out the singer's scalp. Spears reportedly didn't say much except,

"Mom's gonna kill me."

After leaving the salon, she then reportedly headed to a tattoo parlor. While many felt the incident seemed like a cry for help, Spears herself didn't see it that way. A year later, in the MTV documentary Britney: For the Record, the pop star explained that she was going through, quote, "so much artificial stuff" with her kids and her then-husband Kevin Federline. She also said,

"People thought that it was me going crazy and stuff like that, but people shave their heads all the time."
