Violent clashes between Hong Kong police and anti-government protesters are drawing worldwide attention from the United States and the United Kingdom to Brazil.In the UK, Hong Kong Secretary for Justice Teresa Cheng Yeuk-wah was heckled by activists in London on November 14, 2019.On the same day, the US Congress initiated a “hotline” process that would expedite the passage of their proposed Hong Kong Human Rights and Democracy Act. The measure which could pave the way for diplomatic action and economic sanctions against the city’s government.And in Brazil, a rally in support of Hong Kong protesters was staged as the nation hosted Chinese President Xi Jinping for the 11th BRICS summit, during which Xi made a rare public comment about unrest in the city.
