In the debate on the parliamentary motion calling on Workers’ Party (WP) MPs Sylvia Lim and Low Thia Khiang to recuse themselves from Aljunied-Hougang Town Council's (AHTC) financial matters, WP chief Pritam Singh said that there is "no reason for Parliament to be prematurely hijacked as a substitute for the judicial process". He added that the party would unanimously vote against the motion.
