WATCH: Sondland said Trump doesn't care about Ukraine, Holmes testifies | Trump impeachment hearings During an impeachment hearing on Nov. 20, David Holmes, a top staffer at the U.S. Embassy in Ukraine, recalled a July 26 conversation he overheard between President Donald Trump and Gordon Sondland, the U.S. ambassador to the European Union. Holmes testified that he heard Trump ask whether Ukraine’s president was “gonna do the investigation." Sondland and Trump’s call came a day after Trump asked Ukraine’s president to investigate the Bidens. After the call, Holmes said Sondland told him Trump did not care about Ukraine and instead only cared about the “big stuff” like the “Biden investigation.”
