Livid Aldi shoppers have slammed the supermarket after being left with 'stomach turning' and 'rancid' turkeys.The furious customers have criticised the budget store on social media, with some saying their 'spoilt' turkey had ruined Christmas.A number of the shoppers said they were surprised to find the turkeys 'rotten' as they claimed they were well within the sell by date.On Twitter Louise Daley said: 'Just opened our Aldi turkey to prepare it for the big day, only to find it has gone off!! @AldiUK I will be requesting a full refund.' Share this article Share Another social media user said: '@AldiUK bought a turkey on Friday with use by date 26th, kept at correct temp, opened it to roast this morning and it was rotten and stank of rotten meat!'Returned to nearest store, didn't even get so much as an apology, spent more than I needed to buy a crown #Rotten.' It is not clear from the tweets what stores the turkeys were purchased from or which specific turkey product it was. An Aldi spokesperson said: 'We are sorry that, in a small number of instances, we did not meet our usual high-quality standards. 'Customers can return any product that they are not satisfied with to their nearest store for a full refund, or alternatively contact our customer services department.'
