The promise of Messiah in Isaiah 52:7 fulfilled in birth of the Jesus, is followed by Isaiah 53. Chapter that describes the Saviour struck with afflictions, rejection by the authorities and death. As Christ's disciples who appreciate the true meaning of Christmas, we shouldn't be surprised by suffering for the Lord's sake. As the Scripture tells us: "Whosever believeth on him shall not be ashamed." Rom 10:11
"I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth." Rom 1:16
"Nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day." 2 Tim 1:12
"If ye be reproached for the name of Christ, happy are ye; for the spirit of glory and of God resteth upon you ..." 1 Peter 4:14
