Lyrics:
As you prepare your evening meal
Think of how the others feel
Don't forget to feed the hungry dove
As you wage your wars with guns
Think of all the other ones
Those who still believe in peace and love
As you pay for running water
Think of someone's son or daughter
Nursed by clouds beneath a starry dome
As you return from work tonight
Think of others and their plight
Those who live in camps and dream of home
As you lay your head to rest, dreaming deep
Remember those who have no place to sleep
As you let your words run free in rhyme and tongue in cheek
Remember those who've lost their very right to speak
And as you think of others, far away,
Think of yourself and say
If only I could be a candle in the dark,
I wish I were a candle in the dark.
If only I could be a candle in the dark,
I wish I were a candle in the dark.

Translation of Hebrew spoken word:
Next year, we'll sit on the balconies
Like we do every year.
Some kids will play “catch”
Some will stand, humiliated, in check points.
Next year we will raise our eyes again and pray
That this will be the last war.
A white heron will spread its wings
Although we specifically asked for a dove!
And in the meantime, exactly like last year,
We will serve chilled grapes to the table,
We will sigh in desperation,
But will not, God forbid, move our asses.
The time has come to leave those balconies
And instead of counting migrating birds
Let us go out to the streets,
Kick conventions,
Stop the armament and the building of walls,
Ease up on our rigid positions and our fear of stabbing knives.
Let us stop shooting and crying, crying and ruling,
Enough burying our heads in the sand or banging them against the wall.
Enough fighting about who's right and who's to blame,
Or if there's a partner or not.
And may we remember, even in the deepest night, to be a candle in the dark.

Translation of Arabic rap:
I live in darkness, searching for candle light,
My smile is on, but there's a tear in my heart.
The eyes of the people have gone dry, but there is still the glimmer of hope
For a different day for Michael, Ahmed, Yossi and Hamza.
It's hard to think of others, when no one is thinking,
The situation is confusing, I don't know how do I decide
When there's a wall in front of me, controlling my life
I draw wings for myself and above the wall I fly.
Think of others, because others also live here.
We're all different, we each have a different colour
Revolutions occur on the street, not on TV
Get out of your sofa, be a Napoleon.
Conquer the nightmare of reality in your dreams,
Because even the deaf have heard
That the day is coming
The sun won't set and it will heal the heart.
