Patricia Golding was walking the coastal route in Dorset when she spotted the oddly shaped appearance to the rock. The “face” was spotted underneath the Steamer Point Nature Reserve near Avon Beach in Christchurch, Dorset. After taking a picture Patricia sent an image to a local university for some information about the cliff face. She said: "I have e-mailed the University of Southampton Geology Department to see if they have any ideas.” It is believed that coastal erosion has caused part of the delicate sandy clay cliff to crumble, leaving the human-sized face imprinted into the rock. People have been quick to point out the resemblance of the face with Harrison Ford's character Han Solo after he was frozen in carbonite in The Empire Strikes Back (1980). "It's not possible to get fossilised heads, but I don't think it's been carved either." A passerby, who didn't wish to be named, said: "I couldn't believe it when I was walking by and I saw this face staring at me in the cliff. "It was very unnerving."
