CIA supplied Crypto AG machines to South American dictatorships in 1970s: Report

The CIA reportedly had knowledge about atrocities committed by South American dictators some five decades ago.
A Washington Post report said that the CIA owned Swiss Crypto AG as part of their operation with West German intelligence for decades.
It said the agency supplied the communications gear to some South American regimes in the late 1970s,... during which they brutally cracked down on dissidents.
The report said Argentina, Chile and other countries used encryption machines from Swiss Crypto AG,... to establish a secret communications network for their murderous campaigns.
