And to make it even more fun, we tasted all the boxed brownies, and a homemade version, to see which is best! Come along for this late night ride!
Brownies We Tested in Order of our Preference: (all prices are from Walmart)
1. Homemade
2. Betty Crocker $1.04
3.Great Value $.88
4. Duncan Hines $1.00
5. Ghirardelli $2.27
Betty's Brownies:
2 c. chocolate chips (+ 1 additional cup later)
1 stick butter
3 eggs
1 1/4 c. flour
1 c. sugar
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. chocolate chips
Preheat oven to 350°.
Melt 2 cups chocolate chips and butter. Remove from heat and add eggs. Combine.
Add four, sugar, soda, vanilla.
Stir in one cup chocolate chips or sprinkle across the top.
Pour in a 9x13 glass pan.
Bake at 350° for 18-22 min.
