Absolutely insane weather today with record highs set at most reporting sites on Long Island and NYC this morning, followed by wind gusts to 60-70mph in some spots. An EF-1 Tornado was reported in Maryland! Temps have dropped rapidly this evening into the mid 30s, and will be in the mid 20s by morning. We should finally see some sunny blue skies for tomorrow, until clouds arrive in the afternoon. Highs tomorrow will be either side of 40, close to average this year, but upstate and in Northern New England they will see much colder conditions. After that we warm up above average again with unsettled weather next week, but, after another rainstorm on Thursday, we will see a plunge of Arctic air Friday & Saturday, with temps possibly dropping to the single digits. I sure hope this verifies! As for those who don't want cold weather in winter, may I suggest you move south, because cold is a normal & essential part of winter in this area!
