'Media to blame' for widespread hysteria around COVID-19

'Media to blame' for widespread hysteria around COVID-19 Sky News contributor Peter Switzer says "eminent doctors" are blaming hysteria around the global spread of COVID-19 on the media.

"I understand why we have to report on it but I think the reaction is really spooking people," Mr Switzer said.

"Only 0.01 per cent of South Koreans have got the coronavirus and of those people infected, only 0.06 per cent of them have passed away."

The Australian government imposed a travel ban on South Korea on Wednesday to prevent the virus from spreading further.
