Paying Homage To Our Ancestors In The Cotton Fields | SCIPHER LIVING

We can't put into words the feelings we felt paying homage to our ancestors in the cotton fields. This was our very first time being up close and personal in a cotton field. We finally had the opportunity to touch and pick raw cotton. It was in this moment a rush went through our bodies. It was our way to connect to our ancestors and internalize their experience some what. We couldn't imagine what our ancestors went through in these cotton fields picking cotton in the most adverse conditions, in the sweltering heat for countless ours against their will. We give thanks, honor, respect, and praise to those who came before us to help build this country as we know it. We are forever indebted to our ancestors and this day and all the days beyond, we cherish you! And for that, this tribute is for them! Ase'!
