Quarantined honeymooners finally released only to be stigmatized by some community members

Quarantined honeymooners finally released only to be stigmatized by some community members Tyler and Rachel Torres went on their dream honeymoon to Japan and around Asia on the Diamond Princess, the night before they were supposed to disembark, they found out someone had tested positive for Corona virus and were quarantined on the Diamond Princess for 12 days.

They were then taken on a cargo flight to San Antonio, Texas and were quarantined at Lackland air force base for another 14 days. The day that we were supposed to leave quarantine in Lackland the Texas government and the San Antonio mayor imposed some pretty stringent public health declarations and attempted to impose a restraining order to prevent anyone from leaving Lackland.

After some legal wrangling, they were finally released at midnight on Monday night/Tuesday morning. They rented a car and drove all night to their home in Irving, Texas.

In the two days since their release they have faced public scrutiny and been stigmatized by members of their community who don’t think they should have been released from quarantine, despite the CDC giving them a clean bill of health
