Growing up, Ms. Bhumika Shrestha was unsure about her gender identity. Though she was born as a youngest male child in the family, she had more feminine characteristics. She was told to cut her hair short, sit with the boys, talk in a hoarse voice and tease the girls which often confused her. She was constantly bullied, harassed and called names because of her feminine characteristics which added to her mental trauma.But one incident made her realize how she was different and how she can make an impact for her community.

Ms. Bhumika Shrestha shares how she had constant support from her family despite her gender identity and that made her strong enough to become World's Top 100 Influential Woman.
