Researchers to investigate why heart disease is so prevalent among Māori and Pasifika Nearly 30,000 Māori and Pasifika people suffer from heart disease. It's believed inequities in the health system is a major reason for that high number. But it's hoped a 2 million grant to Māori and Pasifika researchers will address the problem.
