Hong Kong protesters try to break out of besieged university | ABC News Protests in Hong Kong have escalated to their most violent in six months of unrest.

Police stormed a major campus where students armed with petrol bombs and catapults had barricaded themselves.

China correspondent Bill Birtles was on the ground at Hong Kong's Polytechnic University when police went in.
