1 Samuel 2:6-10, 25
6 “The Lord kills and makes alive; He brings down to the grave and brings up. 7 The Lord makes poor and makes rich; He brings low and lifts up.
8 He raises the poor from the dust And lifts the beggar from the ash heap, To set them among princes And make them inherit the throne of glory. “For the pillars of the earth are the Lord’s, And He has set the world upon them. 9 He will guard the feet of His saints, But the wicked shall be silent in darkness. “For by strength, no man shall prevail. 10 The adversaries of the Lord shall be broken in pieces; From heaven, He will thunder against them. The Lord will judge the ends of the earth.“He will give strength to His king, And exalt the horn of His anointed.”
God Desired To Kill Eli’s Sons for Their Evil
23…. For I hear of your evil dealings from all the people. 24 No, my sons! For it is not a good report that I hear. You make the Lord’s people transgress. 25 If one man sins against another, God[j] will judge him. But if a man sins against the Lord, who will intercede for him?” Nevertheless, they did not heed the voice of their father, because the Lord desired to kill them.
The Great “I Am” Calls Moses
Exodus 3:5-6, 14-15
5 Then He said, “Do not draw near this place. Take your sandals off your feet, for the place where you stand is holy ground.” 6 Moreover, He said, “I am the God of your father—the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.” And Moses hid his face, for he was afraid to look upon God.
14 And God said to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM.” And He said, “Thus you shall say to the children of Israel, ‘I AM has sent me to you.’ ”
15 Moreover, God said to Moses, “Thus you shall say to the children of Israel: ‘The Lord God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has sent me to you. This is My name forever, and this is My memorial to all generations.’
“Those that sought your life are dead”
Exodus 4:19-23
19 Now the Lord said to Moses in Midian, “Go, return to Egypt; for all the men who sought your life are dead. 20...”And Moses took the rod of God in his hand.
