In US news and current events today, Australians are coming together to save their country's wildlife from the devastating wildfires gripping South Wales and other areas.

Citizens have frequently stopped to offer water to thirsty animals, including koalas, cows, and kangaroos.

Wildlife rehabilitation orgs, including Koalas in Care have been treating koalas suffering from shock, dehydration, and burns.

As of January 7, 2020 the fires have burned more than 12M acres, killed 25 people and 1 billion plus animals. The fires have raged since September 2019.
