Quentin Richardson wouldn’t put Lakers’ LeBron James in ‘same breath’ as Kobe Bryant, Michael Jordan

Quentin Richardson wouldn’t put Lakers’ LeBron James in ‘same breath’ as Kobe Bryant, Michael Jordan LeBron James is one of the league’s top players who is playing for a big team in the Los Angeles Lakers. Many think that he’s one of the greatest players to ever play the game, but Quentin Richardson begs to differ.

The retired journeyman, who started his career with the Los Angeles Clippers, talked about LeBron’s tendencies as a player and how far he is from being at a level Kobe Bryant and Michael Jordan are in his eyes.

On Bounce, Yahoo Sports‘ dedicated talk show on the NBA, Q-Rich talked about why he doesn’t think LeBron will ever be like two of the best scorers in the history of the game.

Richardson hit LeBron on his aggression during the clutch, saying that he doesn’t have the mentality to go hard in the paint or make the shot himself. He gave an example during the Lakers’ loss to the Clippers: in his eyes, Patrick Beverley managed to guard him the way he did due to the fact that he’s a hesitant finisher when it matters most.

However, it’s important to remember that LeBron handled things differently compared to Jordan and Bryant. He’s still one of the most productive players in the league, averaging insane numbers of 25.7 points, 7.6 rebounds, and 10.6 assists at 34 years old. He should be considered more in the mold of a Magic Johnson than a lethal finisher like Bryant and Jordan.

However, this comparison will be one thing James will have to contend with for the remainder of his career. He’s become such a transcendent basketball player that ridiculous expectations are always set on him. All he needs to do in order to quiet the noise is to win a championship with the Purple and Gold.
