The Syfy Version of Dune is Actually Pretty Good

The Syfy Version of Dune is Actually Pretty Good In December of the year 2000, the SyFy channel aired a new adaptation of Frank Herbert’s Dune. Dune 2000 was actually the first mini-series that the Sci-Fi Channel had ever released and a whopping 20 million dollars was spent on 3 episodes which were a pretty decent amount for a tv miniseries at the time. But this was still a pretty small budget considering that the david lynch film when adjusting for inflation spent nearly 4 times as much. Regardless, Dune 2000 was a huge hit doubling all viewership records for the network at the time and receiving an average of 4.4 million households over the course of the three nights in which the mini-series aired.
