As the Jamaica government aims to transform the energy sector customers can anticipate speedier electrical inspections that'll streamline household and development projects. Principal Director of Energy, Fitzroy Vidal says this is necessary due to the limited number of government electrical inspectorate offices across the island.
Back in September 2019, the Minister of Science, Energy and Technology Fayval Williams while speaking at the Jamaica Institution of Engineers engineers week had announced that the ministry was changing the structure of how consumers access inspectors to review their buildings and connect them to Jamaica Public Service. The Principal Director of Energy, Fitzroy Vidal says private individuals will now be licensed under strict guidelines to carry out the licensing functions associated with electrical works.
