Sonam Losar is celebrated by Certain Tibet Communities from Tibet, Tamangs and Yholmule and Sherpas living above Namche Bazar, Khumjung, Khunde, Phortse, Pangbopche and Thame. Sonam Losar is celebrated on the first day of the new moon of the twelve month as per Buddhist calendar. On SONAM LOSAR, 25TH JAN 2020 (Magh 11, 2076) the Tibetan communities organized cultural dances from different part of Tibet at Shersong Monastery, Tinchuli Boudhanath, Kathmandu.

In the past there were time classifying upper class Sherpa, lower class Sherpa, old settler and new comers but after all we are all Sherpa living around the Global. Sherpa families were vast and complicated in the past. There are no proper records and it is good time to track down from our oldies. I have created Sherpa Tribal Family Tree Project 2020 and collecting family records. Please kindly look on it and let me know for changes and more information.
