We Sailed The Cheapest Cruise in America We Could Find. Here's What Surprised Us... What does a $158 cruise fare get you?

At the start of the year, we searched for the cheapest cruises in America from a major cruise line for all of 2020. The result? This sailing aboard the MSC Divina that departed January 28 for a 3-day cruise from Miami to Freeport and Ocean Cay.

All told, the cruise fare was just $158 to sail solo (would have been $109 per person if sailing with two people). With government fees and taxes, we paid a total of $303, plus $12.50 per day in service charges.

So what did we get for our money? Check out our thoughts on the trip.

*At the time of booking (January 10, 2020), this cruise was the least expensive sailing we could find for 2020 (including the cruise fare, taxes, and fees) among major cruise lines leaving a U.S. port of call. Search was conducted over several days in early January for a solo passenger. Major cruise lines include MSC, Carnival, Royal Caribbean, Norwegian, Disney, and similar lines.
