Selecting the best substrate for bearded dragons is a critical choice, your decision can impact upon the health of your beardie, for the best care of your bearded dragon, ensure you get it right!

For a bearded dragon, you will find two key types of substrate; particle ones and non-particle ones. Of the two, non particle substrates are by far the safest for all beardies, in particular baby bearded dragons. This is because small particle substrates can be easily ingested which can go on to cause a condition called impaction. This is a nasty problem for your beardie and could, without treatment, result in death. This can easily be avoided though when using any of the recommended substrates in this video.
